Alkaline Electric Pot Pie

What You Will Need:

This recipe yields 4-6 servings.

Ingredients

  • Cooked Garbanzo Beans
  • Butternut Squash
  • Red & White Onion
  • Red & Green Bell Pepper
  • Mushrooms
  • Kale
  • Hemp Milk
  • Garbanzo Bean Four
  • Spelt Flour
  • Quinoa Flour
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Sea Salt
  • Onion Powder
  • Savory
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • Cayenne Powder
  • Spring Water

Tools

  • Wooden Dowel or Rolling Pin
  • Food Processor
  • Whisk
  • 8×8 Baking Dish
  • Rolling Mat (optional)

Pot Pie Filling

Measurements:

  • 1 cup Cooked Garbanzo Beans
  • 1 cup Butternut Squash, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Red & White Onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup Red & Green Bell Pepper, diced
  • 2 cups Mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 cup Kale, chopped
  • 1 cup Hemp Milk
  • 1/4 cup Garbanzo Bean Four*
  • 1/2 cup Spring Water*
  • 1-2 tbsp. Grapeseed Oil
  • 1 tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp. Savory
  • 1 tsp. Basil
  • 1 tsp. Oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. Cayenne Powder

*You most likely won’t use all the flour or water.

Directions:

  1. Add grapeseed oil to large skillet on medium heat and sauté onions for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add milk and slowly add garbanzo bean flour while whisking until sauce slightly thickens.
  3. If sauce gets too thick, add spring water.
  4. Reduce heat to low, mix in seasonings and vegetables, and cover with a lid for 15 minutes.

Pie Crusts

Measurements:

  • 1 cup Spelt Flour
  • 1 cup Quinoa Flour*
  • 1 tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/3 cup Grapeseed Oil
  • 1/2 cup Spring Water

*Quinoa flour makes the crust more flakey, however you can use 2 cups spelt flour instead if you do not have quinoa flour.

Directions:

  1. Add flour and seasonings to food processor and blend for 10 seconds. Mixing together in a bowl is also a option.
  2. Slowly pour in grapeseed oil while mixing.
  3. Slowly add water while mixing until the dough forms into a ball.
  4. Flour work area, divide dough in half, and roll out thin.
  5. Lightly coat baking dish with oil and lay in the first crust.
  6. Cut off edges overlapping baking dish and add pie filling.
  7. Lay second crust over baking dish, pinch down edges of the crust, and cut off excess.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°
  9. Enjoy your Alkaline Electric Pot Pie!
