So you’ve made the decision to eat alkaline electric foods. You’ve successfully made a few meals and now it’s time to hit the road. What will you eat?
It can be tough to follow this lifestyle when choices seem limited, but it’s nothing a little planning can’t fix! You don’t have to give in to take out for dinner or pick up fast food while on the road, if you don’t want to.
Today I’m sharing tips on how to stick to an alkaline electric lifestyle while on the road!
Road Tripping
Planning ahead before traveling is key to helping you stay on track. Find out what’s possible according to the details of your trip and consider the following tips:
- List & shop for food and beverage preferences ahead of time.
- Take along a thermos, hot plate or a cooler if needed.
- Make stops at grocery stores along your route instead of choosing fast food.
- Find out if your hotel will have a fridge or if staying in a condo, where you can shop nearby for food to cook.
These are just a few options, and with a bit of strategy it can work out just fine.
Below I share how we prepared to eat while traveling on our last weekend road trip. It was really hot out, so we stuck with simple fruits and veggies!
Of course, part of the fun of traveling can be finding a new vegan spot to try out. We think it’s perfectly fine to allow for some flexibility to try new things, while still keeping it alkaline and as close to the nutritional guide as possible.
Below is a spicy kale wrap we enjoyed from Tassili’s Raw Reality in Atlanta. It was very good and filling!
